Sixth Grade - Bridge to Middle School

The Winston School takes extra steps to prepare sixth graders for their pending transition to middle school. Students are coached to interact with teachers outside their own classroom, as well as students of higher grade levels.

Pacing, organization, and scheduling are addressed continually to help sixth graders ease their transition to accepting more responsibility in their academic lives. Academically, students will study:

• Mathematics
• English/Language Arts/Reading
• Science and/or Social Studies
• Physical Education
• Computers and/or Art
