The Winston School takes extra steps to prepare middle schoolers for their pending transition to high school. Students are coached to interact with teachers outside their own classroom, as well as with students of higher grade levels.
Pacing, organization, and scheduling are addressed continually to help middle schoolers ease their transition to accepting more responsibility in their academic lives. Academically, middle school students will study:
- Mathematics
- English/Language Arts
- Science
- Social Studies
- Physical Education or Fine Arts
- Tutorial and Study Skills
All subjects are taught within the guidelines of the California State curriculum framework.
