An exciting future awaits your student at The Winston School. We have secured our campus location for at least the next 40 years and laid the groundwork for a long-envisioned campus renovation where we will continue to inspire students to become curious, collaborative, creative, and resilient learners, ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the world.

How is The Winston School different?
- Winston offers new hope to students and families who have experienced disappointment, frustration and failure in previous school settings.

- Winston is a secure place where students can enjoy being at school, making friends, being creative, and having the weight of failure lifted off their shoulders.
- Winston is a flexible school that tries to make the classroom and curriculum fit the student, not fit the student to the classroom.
- Winston expects students to progress and take on increasingly greater challenges as their resilience, self-confidence and vision for their future success grow.
- At 8:1, Winston offers the lowest teacher to student ratio at any San Diego private school.
- Winston offers students optional counseling services on-site.
- Winston students may take an extra year to finish high school (fifth year option).
- All of Winston’s teachers are credentialed in special education.
- Winston’s highly trained teachers, staff and counselors are able to get students back into the classroom and on a path to a brighter future.
- Our unique School Wide Learning Expectations program promotes, recognizes and rewards academic and personal growth in our students.
Our students are inspired by the scenery, relaxed by the ocean breezes and challenged by our staff to aspire to great things. Winston students often find mentors among our staff, volunteers, and the diverse collection of artists and entrepreneurs based in Del Mar.
